Byu’s offbeat occult gag series Let’s Go Kaiki-gumi is getting a TV anime. It will air in 2026 on the TBS network across 28 stations nationwide in a Sunday evening slot.

One twilight, I ran into Mechako—the boss of Kaiki-gumi, a syndicate of ghosts and yokai who make it their business to spook humans. I’m a high-schooler who scares six times as easily as a normal person, yet somehow I end up roped into helping Mechako revive Kaiki-gumi… From that day on, eerie—or maybe not so eerie—occurrences keep happening all around me! “Haaa—?!” A gag-gag horror—no, a gag horror. This singularly strange spooky comedy drama begins now!

Cast
- Protagonist (CV: Tasuku Hatanaka) A male high-school student with an abnormally low tolerance for fear—he’s been jumpier than most since childhood, to the tune of six times more easily scared. Hyper-attuned to “scariness” (to the point people around him are baffled), he ends up helping Mechako in her bid to bring Kaiki-gumi back.
 - Mechako (CV: Ruriko Aoki) Neither quite human nor quite a ghost. She possesses the powers of all manner of specters but doesn’t know how to use them, and, unable to grasp what “fear” is, has let Kaiki-gumi fall into decline despite being its boss. She’s oblivious to fear—yet the terror she inspires in others is off the charts.
 - Narration: Shigeru Chiba
