The second trailer for the TV anime Dead Account, set to air from January 2026 in TV Asahi’s nationwide 24-station “IMAnimation” block, has been released.
Alongside an outline of the story, the video teases combat scenes powered by “electric abilities,” as the cast takes on modern-day ghosts known as “Bake-aka” — digital spirits born from the social media accounts of the dead.
About the TV anime Dead Account
Original work by Shizuka Watanabe. Directed by Keiya Saito. Series composition by Mitsutaka Hirota. Sound direction by Ryosuke Naya. Music by Keiji Inai. Animation production by SynergySP.

What happens to the social media accounts of the dead? The accounts of those who pass on with lingering regrets — “dead accounts” — eventually return to the living world as digital ghosts, the “Bake-aka.” Aori Enjo livestreams under the flame-bait persona “Aoriringo” to pay for his younger sister Hiri’s medical treatment. After a sudden awakening to electric powers, he is brought to Miden Academy — a school shrouded in rumor — where a new generation of mediums is trained to exorcise ghosts that have gone digital in the age of the internet.
Nobuhiko Okamoto leads the cast, with Koki Uchiyama, Fairouz Ai, Natsuki Hanae, Machico, Ryota Suzuki, and Takuya Sato also starring.
