The “emotional poster” and preview trailer have been released for Episode 10, titled “With a Prayer,” of the TV anime This Monster Wants to Eat Me (Watashi o Tabetai, Hitodenashi), which will air starting December 4 on AT-X, TOKYO MX, and other stations.
In this episode, Shiori opens up to Miko about her past. She recounts living with a child in a certain fishing village long ago, only to be resented after feeding the child her own flesh. That experience convinced her she was an outsider to this world, an entity destined never to truly connect with anyone. Decades later, however, meeting Hinako gave her the sensation of finally being invited inside. Shiori then confesses that affection for Hinako has begun to blossom within her…

The production features Naoyuki Kuzuya as General Director, Yusuke Suzuki as Director, and Mitsutaka Hirota on Series Composition and Script. Character designs are by Sou Ikuyama, with Sound Direction by Ryosuke Naya and Music by Keiji Inai. The series is produced by Infinite and animated by Studio LINGS.
Synopsis “I have come to eat you.” Shiori, a mermaid, suddenly appears before Hinako, a girl living alone in a seaside town, and takes her hand with a gentle whisper. Hinako’s flesh and blood are said to be exceptionally delicious—enough to attract countless monsters. Shiori vows to protect Hinako until she fully matures and reaches her prime state, promising that she will be the one to eat her eventually. Yet, a desperate hope rises in Hinako’s heart: “Perhaps this person can grant my wish.”
The cast features Reina Ueda as Hinako Yaotose, Yui Ishikawa as Shiori Omi, and Fairouz Ai as Miko Yashiro.
