Originally released in 2000, Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade—featuring a story and screenplay by Mamoru Oshii and direction by Hiroyuki Okiura—is returning. To mark its 25th anniversary, the film has been remastered in 4K and upgraded with Dolby Atmos audio.

A “4K Remaster Set” (a two-disc set containing a 4K ULTRA HD Blu-ray and a standard Blu-ray) will be released on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Prior to this release, a revival theatrical screening featuring the new 4K visuals and Dolby Atmos sound will begin on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Synopsis
The setting is Tokyo, the capital. Aggressive economic policies have triggered a sharp rise in unemployment and violent crime. To control anti-government forces, the government established a security unit restricted to the metropolitan area: the Capital Area Security Police Agency, commonly known as the “Capital Police.” As this force expanded rapidly, anti-government groups were outlawed by legislation and driven underground, leading to repeated urban warfare.
Public opinion eventually turned against the Capital Police for their overwhelming use of force, deepening the unit’s isolation.
Kazuki Fuse is a young member of the Capital Police’s special anti-terrorist unit. He has lived his life suppressing all human emotion, regulating himself like a lone wolf guided solely by combat instinct. However, while pursuing underground fugitives, he encounters a shocking incident. This event triggers a change in his internal world.
