It has been announced that the TV anime Petals of Reincarnation ( Reincarnation no Kaben) will begin broadcasting this April on TOKYO MX, BS NTV, and other stations. In conjunction with this announcement, the second key visual, the second promotional video, five new cast members, and details regarding the opening and ending theme songs have been revealed.

The second key visual features the main characters from the “Forest of Greats,” a group of Reincarnators whose stated goal is “world peace.” While all eight characters gaze in the same direction, the striking visual intricately depicts each of their unique combat styles and talents.
The second promotional video opens with a line symbolizing protagonist Toya Senji’s “thirst for talent.” The video generously features cuts that convey the series’ worldview and appeal, introducing the main characters of the Forest of Greats who color the story. The final cut raises a lingering question: what is the significance of Toya’s left arm?

The characters from the Forest of Greats will be voiced by Haruka Shiraishi as A. Einstein, Kaito Ishikawa as I. Newton, Reina Ueda as F. Nightingale, Marina Inoue as Jubei Mitsuyoshi Yagyu, and Shugo Nakamura as Hiroshi Funasaka.
The Petals of Reincarnation opening theme will be “Glitch*” by eill, and the ending theme will be “Zero” (Rei) by Sizuk. The second PV previews not only the new character voices but also a segment of the opening theme song.
Comments from the Petals of Reincarnation Anime Cast & Artists
Haruka Shiraishi (as A. Einstein) “I am Haruka Shiraishi, and I will be playing the role of A. Einstein. While I was captivated by the serious story progression and battle scenes, I also found the everyday interactions between the great figures to be adorable and comical; it is a work with delightful highs and lows. What is justice and what is evil?
I believe the answer varies greatly depending on the angle from which you view it. What emotions lie behind a seemingly ruthless character? Is the majority opinion truly the correct one? The more I watch, the more curious I become, and it has really made me think. I am looking forward to seeing Ain and the others move in the anime! Thank you very much!”
Kaito Ishikawa (as I. Newton) “I am Kaito Ishikawa, and I will be playing the role of I. Newton. I hope to enjoy performing both the cheerful, easily carried-away side of Newton and his serious, compassionate side. With the names of various historical figures appearing, I think this work will stimulate your intellectual curiosity. I will research various things before facing the recording sessions. First, I’ll start by looking up apples.”
Reina Ueda (as F. Nightingale) “Although she does not head to the battlefield, she plays the role of healing the members who return injured. I found those healing scenes somewhat sensual and heart-pounding. I hope you will pay attention to Ms. Nightingale, who is gentle yet has her own quirks, and enjoy this work. Please support the anime Petals of Reincarnation!”
Marina Inoue (as Jubei Mitsuyoshi Yagyu) “I have been assigned the role of Jubei Mitsuyoshi Yagyu. Jubei seems to have special feelings toward Haito. Since I received direction from the director to cherish her unwavering core, I intend to perform the role with a strong consciousness of that.”
Shugo Nakamura (as Hiroshi Funasaka) “I will be voicing Hiroshi Funasaka! He is a man with the talent of immortality. His habit of saying ending sentences with ‘…de arimasu’ makes him sound stiff, but he actually has a charming side as well. This was a type of role I hadn’t done before, so it was quite a challenging time for me! I put my heart and soul into it! Please look forward to the broadcast.”
eill (Opening Theme Artist) “I am eill, and I will be handling the OP theme song for Petals of Reincarnation. After reading the original work, I received inspiration to write ‘Glitch*’. While ‘glitch’ originally means a ‘bug,’ I consider it a new possibility that has jumped off the rails of ‘normal.’ Whether one perceives it as a bug or a gift, and how one lets their talent bloom, varies from person to person. Within the grand theme of reincarnation, I created a dance tune about how one’s way of being changes in a modern world where ‘normal’ is being rewritten at breakneck speed. I am truly looking forward to the anime broadcast!”
Shunryu (Sizuk – Ending Theme Composer) “The despair of being trapped in a cycle of feeling one’s existence is shallow, the joy of obtaining the power of a figure who once celebrated their talent, the conflict of losing one’s original self to take on a new way of life, the realization that the entity that taught you justice is no longer just, and the resolve to choose one’s own justice—even if it means lending a hand to evil, possessing the strength to fight for what you want to protect… I hope this song conveys the way the characters live, along with the scent of the winds of history.”
AYAME (Sizuk – Ending Theme Vocalist) “First of all, I am truly honored to be allowed to sing again. This time, the lyrics were written by Kanata Nakamura, who also wrote the lyrics for ‘Anemone’ and handles the flower petals depicted in the anime. Since Mr. Nakamura writes lyrics that possess true melancholy and beauty, I thought about how to bring out that melancholy. I used falsetto in places where I would normally use my natural voice. I hope you will listen while feeling that beauty, as well as the weakness and the sense of trying to convince oneself that lies within it.”
