Yoshihiro Togashi, the manga artist and creator of HUNTER × HUNTER and Kurapika character, has garnered significant attention following a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Togashi opened his official X account in 2022. Since then, he has focused on sharing updates regarding the production of HUNTER × HUNTER, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, regularly posting photos of his manuscripts with visible page numbers.

His latest post features an illustration of Kurapika, one of the series’ most popular characters. The drawing depicts Kurapika with his signature “Scarlet Eyes,” accompanied by a speech bubble reading, “No. 413 manuscript complete.”

Breaking from his usual routine, Togashi followed up with photos of a whiteboard. He captioned one image, “The red won’t erase lol,” showing the board where only the red ink used for Kurapika’s Scarlet Eyes remained stubborn and visible.

Although the board was eventually wiped clean, a third post showed black ink layered over the red, drawing a variety of reactions from fans.

Comments ranged from gratitude for the artwork—”Thank you for the wonderful illustration!”—to jubilant congratulations on the manuscript’s completion. Regarding the whiteboard incident, fans remarked, “This shows the strength of Kurapika’s obsession!” and “The anger of the Kurta clan will never fade!”

Megumi Han, the voice actress who plays Gon Freecss in the anime adaptation, also reacted. After reposting Togashi’s update, she posted a brief “Eh….????” accompanied by an image evoking a memorable scene featuring Gon from the series.

With Togashi’s X account continuing to report on the manuscript’s progress and completion, many fans are expressing hope that an announcement regarding the chapter’s publication will arrive soon.

The HUNTER × HUNTER manga is currently in the midst of the Succession Contest arc, where the princes of the Kakin Empire are waging a life-or-death battle aboard the massive Black Whale ship to determine the next king. We look forward to Togashi’s future posts and the unfolding story of HUNTER × HUNTER!
