Blue Lock New Anime Series Announced Alongside Live-Action Film Adaptation

A fresh TV anime installment of Blue Lock, the soccer saga created by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, is officially in production. In tandem with the new anime, a live‑action feature film has been confirmed.

An anime character with short dark hair and a blue jersey stands in front of a dynamic yellow and green background. Bold Japanese text announces a new TV anime series. The logo for "Blue Lock" is prominently displayed at the bottom of the image.

The news dropped today, September 28, during “Blue Lock Egoist Festa 2025,” held at Keio Arena TOKYO in Tokyo. To mark the decision to move forward with the next TV anime series, creators Kaneshiro and Nomura shared celebratory comments.

The live‑action film is slated to hit theaters in summer 2026—aligning with the next FIFA World Cup year. Production is handled by CREDEUS, the studio behind films such as “Kingdom,” “Golden Kamuy,” and “Kokuhō” (National Treasure).

Seven soccer players are shown as white silhouettes standing confidently against a vibrant blue background filled with puzzle pieces and chain designs. Bold lime green and white Japanese text announces a new event or series related to "Blue Lock Egoist Exhibition: the animation Extra Time."

In addition, to celebrate the nationwide touring exhibition “Blue Lock Exhibition EGOIST EXHIBITION the animation Extra Time” entering its second half, a preview of a brand‑new key visual has arrived. The teaser depicts the silhouettes of what appears to be eight characters. The full visual will be unveiled in late October.

On the new TV anime series
Muneyuki Kaneshiro:
“The continuation is locked in!!! We did it… thank you, you glorious egoist production team! For Isagi—and for us—this is a brand‑new kickoff. We’re making this with our egos turned up to eleven—eyes spinning, tongues lolling—so drop to your knees and wait for it!”

Yusuke Nomura:
“At long last we can say it out loud: a new anime series!! It’s finally time to bring the ‘Neo Egoist League’ arc to the screen. Get ready for those overseas monsters—players even more eccentric than the Blue Lock inmates—to tear it up. Sit tight and brace yourselves!”

On the live‑action film
Muneyuki Kaneshiro:
“Real‑world Blue Lock starts now! Who’s playing Isagi? What about Bachira? Nagi? Blue Lock‑man? Natto!? Lots to wonder about, I know—but a once‑in‑a‑lifetime, ego‑fuelled creative team that loves Blue Lock is pouring that love into this movie. Await further news!”

Yusuke Nomura:
“Blue Lock is, against all odds, becoming a live‑action film! Day after day we’re having electrifying meetings with a crew of egoists even hotter‑blooded than we are, yet meticulous to the core. I can’t wait to see what chemistry Blue Lock × live action creates—please look forward to it!”
