It has been announced that the stage play for “Chainsaw Man Reze Arc” will be performed from July to August 2026. The four principal cast members portraying Denji, Aki, Power, and Makima will reprise their roles from the previous production.

Chainsaw Man Reze Arc stage announcement

Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s massively popular manga Chainsaw Man, the first stage adaptation ran in Tokyo and Kyoto from September to October 2023. That production garnered significant acclaim for its vivid on-stage recreation of the series’ unique worldview and overwhelming action sequences.

For this second installment, the “Reze Arc,” Naotake Tsuchiya (Denji), Mizuki Umezu (Aki), Mahiru Koda (Power), and Aya Hirano (Makima) will all return. The creative team also remains unchanged, with Fumiya Matsuzaki handling the script and direction, Shunsuke Wada composing the music, and HIDALI providing choreography.

The “Chainsaw Man Reze Arc” is a fan-favorite storyline known for its dramatic developments and the poignant yet intense relationship between Denji and Reze. Its popularity was recently cemented by the animated film Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc, released this past September, which became a massive hit with over 6 million admissions.

An anime character with short purple hair stands at a bus stop on a rainy day, holding a white daisy close to their neck. They wear a brown backpack and a black shirt with a white neckline. The scene is viewed through a rain-streaked window, with a wet street and green shrubs visible outside.

Having captivated fans through both the original manga and the animated film, anticipation is high to see how the “Chainsaw Man Reze Arc” will be brought to life through theatrical direction. The production promises a fusion of dense emotional expression and dynamic action.

Chainsaw Man Reze Arc Cast Comments

Naotake Tsuchiya (Denji)

“I am truly happy to bring Chainsaw Man Reze Arc The Stage back to everyone and to continue playing this role in the sequel. With the ‘Reze Arc’ currently enjoying a massive response, just imagining bringing that excitement to the stage—and experiencing the unique thrill of live performance again—makes me impatient to start! The ‘Reze Arc’ contains many turning points and encounters for Denji. I intend to play him with care, while also letting a few screws loose. The entire company will devote ourselves to reaching as many people as possible, so please support us.”

Mizuki Umezu (Aki)

“It has already been two years since the previous production. I am trembling with excitement at the thought of throwing myself back into that frenzy. When I close one eye, I can see the devils on the back of my eyelid. Even the vibrations of that massive rotating stage set seem to come flooding back. I’m trembling all over. My only regret is that I couldn’t resist cutting my hair, but I will make sure it is ready in time for the show.”

Mahiru Koda (Power)

“Since the previous production was my very first stage experience, I am genuinely delighted to be cast in the sequel to such a cherished work. Beyond the joy of living as Power once again, I cannot wait to share that world with the audience again. I hope you look forward to the Chainsaw Man The Stage that we will create!”

Aya Hirano (Makima)

“Two years have passed since the premiere, and with the animated film becoming an explosive hit worldwide, I am thrilled to announce this new production and to return to this world. When we first started, it was my first appearance in a ‘2.5-dimensional’ play. I was inspired by the company’s attitude of trying to ‘revolutionize 2.5D theater.’ With new characters joining the ‘Reze Arc,’ I intend to lead the company as Makima to ensure we maintain that momentum and creativity, never forgetting the spirit of the premiere. In a sense, this production tests the existence of Makima dwelling within Denji’s heart. While watching quietly, I intend to go on the offensive.”
