CloverWorks, the animation company behind the Wind Breaker anime adaptation, announced the sixth and last member of the voice cast for the project on X (previously Twitter).
The anime’s cast was completed when Shoya Chiba was announced as the voice of Akihiko Nirei by CloverWorks, the animation studio responsible for the Spy x Family anime. Chiba is most known for his part as Kiyotaka Ayanokoji in Classroom of the Elite, in which he also played a disturbed adolescent trying to rise through the ranks at a school for the elite.
In addition to Chiba, the previously announced voice cast consists of Ryota Suzuki (Dr. Stone), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Bluelock), Koki Uchiyama (Horimiya), and Yuma Uchida and Yuichi Nakamura (Jujutsu Kaisen). The voice actors for each character were announced one by one in a series of social media posts by the studio, leading up to the announcement of a special presentation live broadcast on October 22.
Story of Haruka Sakura, a student in a high school for delinquent teenagers who wants to prove himself by becoming the best fighter in town, as told in the film adaptation of the manga series of the same name by creator Satoru Nii. Meanwhile, evil powers conspire against the school and the town it dwells in, forcing Hakura to put aside his reservations about working with others in order to protect the place he calls home. Kodansha USA, which also publishes English versions of Japanese manga like Attack on Titan, is responsible for the manga’s publication.
CloverWorks, creators of Spy x Family and The Promised Neverland, are behind the anime adaptation. On October 22nd, there will be a “Boufurin Rally” studio livestream event announcing further details about the show, in reference to the high school that will be featured in the program.
The launch date has not been announced, but it will air on Crunchyroll in the United States, which normally airs new episodes of continuing anime every week.
