In the Season 2 finale, Momo and her friends combined their abilities with a gigantic Great Buddha robot to defeat the space kaiju. After its defeat, the cosmic monster shrank, and leaving it in the streets was out of the question. Okarun and Jiji decided to haul it back to Momo’s house for safekeeping.
There, Okarun noticed a zipper on the creature. When he pulled it down, a beautiful girl emerged from inside. As she awoke, she suddenly kissed the surprised Okarun—right as Momo walked in and saw them. Season 3 will delve into who this girl is and why she was sealed within the kaiju.
Based on the hit manga serialized on Shonen Jump+ (SHUEISHA), ‘Dandadan’ follows high schooler Momo Ayase—born into a family of spirit mediums—and her classmate Okarun (Ken Takakura), an occult fanatic. Together they confront a barrage of bizarre phenomena in an occult-tinged battle saga that doubles as a青春 (coming‑of‑age) story.
The series’ offbeat, occult-themed battle fantasy has sparked widespread buzz. Its cumulative circulation has surpassed 10 million copies. The TV anime aired Season 1 from October to December 2024, followed by Season 2 from July to September 2025.
