Tanjiro Kamado

His sword is black, but it can turn crimson red when he uses his full power.
Nezuko Kamado
Nezuko Kamado (竈門 禰豆子, Kamado Nezuko) is Tanjiro’s younger sister and the only survivor of their family’s massacre. She was turned into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji, the first and most powerful demon in existence. However, she retained some human emotions and memories, thanks to Tanjiro’s protection and Urokodaki’s hypnosis.
She usually travels inside a wooden box that Tanjiro carries on his back, but she can also fight alongside him using her enhanced strength, speed, and regeneration. She can also manipulate her size and use her blood as a weapon, creating explosive flames or needles. She is loyal and affectionate to Tanjiro and his friends but shows hostility towards other demons.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu Agatsuma (我妻 善逸, Agatsuma Zen’itsu) is a fellow demon slayer who joins Tanjiro on his journey. He is a cowardly and nervous person who often complains and tries to avoid danger. He is also very fond of women and often flirts with them, especially Nezuko.
However, he has a hidden talent that manifests when he falls asleep or faints: he can use the Thunder Breathing sword style at an incredible speed and precision, making him a formidable fighter. He learned this style from Jigoro Kuwajima, a former Thunder Hashira. He has a yellow sword and can produce lightning-like effects with his slashes.
Inosuke Hashibira
Inosuke Hashibira (嘴平 伊之助, Hashibira Inosuke) is another demon slayer who accompanies Tanjiro on his mission. He is a wild and aggressive person who grew up in the mountains with boars. He wears a boar mask over his head and wields two serrated swords that he made himself.
He is very competitive and loves to fight strong opponents, often clashing with Tanjiro and Zenitsu. He also has a keen sense of touch that allows him to sense vibrations and movements in his surroundings. He uses the Beast Breathing sword style, which mimics the movements of different animals.
Kanao Tsuyuri

Genya Shinazugawa
Genya Shinazugawa (不死川 玄弥, Shinazugawa Gen’ya) is a demon slayer who joins at the same time as Tanjiro and Zenitsu. He is a harsh and foul-mouthed individual obsessed with nothing beyond demon killing. His personality changes after he fights beside Tanjiro to save the Hidden Swordsmith Village.
He is the younger brother of Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira, but they have a strained relationship due to their past trauma. He does not use a sword but instead relies on a shotgun and a katana that he can transform with his blood.
He can also consume demon flesh and gain some of their abilities, such as regeneration and enhanced senses. He is the only known demon slayer who can do this without becoming a demon himself.
Demon Slayer Corps
The Demon Slayer Corps (鬼殺隊, Kisatsutai) is an organization of warriors who fight against demons. The government does not officially recognize them, but they operate under the protection of the Ubuyashiki family, the descendants of the first Breath user.
The Demon Slayer Corps consists of hundreds of members, divided into ranks based on their strength and achievements. The highest rank is the Hashira (柱, lit. Pillar), the nine most powerful demon slayers who each master a different Breath style. The current Hashira are:
Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka (冨岡 義勇, Tomioka Giyū), the Water Hashira. He is a calm and stoic person who saved Tanjiro and Nezuko from a demon attack. He is also the former disciple of Urokodaki and the successor of the Water Breathing style.
Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu Kocho (胡蝶 しのぶ, Kochō Shinobu), the Insect Hashira. She is a cheerful and friendly person who hides her hatred for demons behind a smile. She is also the adoptive sister of Kanae Kocho, the former Flower Hashira, and the adoptive mother of Kanao. She uses the Insect Breathing style, which derives from Flower Breathing.
Kyojuro Rengoku
Kyojuro Rengoku (煉獄 杏寿郎, Rengoku Kyōjurō), the Flame Hashira. He is a passionate and optimistic person who values honor and duty. Tengen Uzui
Tengen Uzui (宇髄 天元, Uzui Tengen), the Sound Hashira. He is a flamboyant and eccentric person who loves entertainment and women. He is also a former shinobi who works as a spy for the Demon Slayer Corps. He uses the Sound Breathing style, which derives from Thunder Breathing.
Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri Kanroji (甘露寺 蜜璃, Kanroji Mitsuri), the Love Hashira. She is bubbly, and romantic, and has a crush on Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Hashira. She is also one of the few female Hashira in history. She uses the Love Breathing style, which derives from Flower Breathing.
Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro Tokito (時透 無一郎, Tokitō Muichirō), the Mist Hashira. He is a detached and aloof person who lost his memories due to a demon attack. He is also the twin brother of Yuichiro Tokito, who was killed by Kokushibo, the Upper Rank One demon. He uses the Mist Breathing style, which derives from Wind Breathing.
Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei Himejima (悲鳴嶼 行冥, Himejima Gyōmei), the Stone Hashira. He is a gentle and devout person who cares for orphans and children. He is also blind and uses prayer beads as his weapon instead of a sword. He uses the Stone Breathing style, one of the original Breath styles.
Obanai Iguro
Obanai Iguro (伊黒 小芭内, Iguro Obanai), the Serpent Hashira. He is a cold and ruthless person who hates demons and those who sympathize with them. He is also loyal and protective of Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, and Mitsuri Kanroji, his love interest. He uses the Serpent Breathing style, which derives from Flower Breathing.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi Shinazugawa (不死川 実弥, Shinazugawa Sanemi), the Wind Hashira. He is fierce and reckless, with a strong grudge against demons due to his tragic past. He is also the older brother of Genya Shinazugawa, whom he tried to keep away from demon slaying. He uses the Wind Breathing style, one of the original Breath styles.
Demons
Demons (鬼, Oni) are humans transformed by Muzan Kibutsuji’s blood. They gain enhanced physical abilities, such as strength, speed, durability, regeneration, and immortality. They also have various demonic abilities, such as manipulating elements, creating illusions, or transforming their bodies.
However, they also have weaknesses, such as sunlight, wisteria flowers, and Nichirin blades. They must also consume human flesh and blood to survive and maintain power. Most demons are loyal to Muzan Kibutsuji, who can control them through his blood. However, some demons, such as Tamayo, Yushiro, and Nezuko, are independent or rebellious.

Muzan Kibutsuji
Muzan Kibutsuji (鬼舞辻 無惨, Kibutsuji Muzan), is the first and most powerful demon in existence. He is the main antagonist of the series and the source of all demons. He is a cruel and ruthless being who seeks to destroy the Demon Slayer Corps and create a world where he can live freely.

He can change his appearance and gender at will, but his original form is that of a pale man with black hair and red eyes. He can use all the Breath styles and create various blood techniques, such as Blood Demon Arts, Blood Destruction, and Blood Sharing.
He is also the leader of the Twelve Kizuki (十二鬼月, lit. Twelve Demon Moons), the twelve strongest demons under his command who each have a number engraved on their eyes.
Tamayo
Tamayo (珠世), a female demon turned by Muzan Kibutsuji 200 years ago. She is a kind and gentle person who opposes Muzan and seeks to find a cure for demonization. She is also a skilled doctor who can create medicines and potions using her blood.
She uses the Aroma Breathing style, which derives from Flower Breathing. She is accompanied by Yushiro (愈史郎), a male demon turned by Tamayo and serves as her assistant and protector. He uses the Biwa Breathing style, which derives from Sound Breathing.

The Twelve Kizuki
The Twelve Kizuki (十二鬼月), the twelve strongest demons under Muzan Kibutsuji’s command each have a number engraved on their eyes. They are divided into two groups: the Upper Ranks (上弦の月, Jōgen no Tsuki) and the Lower Ranks (下弦の月, Kagen no Tsuki).
The Upper Ranks are more powerful and stable than the Lower Ranks, often replaced or killed by Muzan or other Upper Ranks. The current members of the Twelve Kizuki are:
Kokushibo
Upper Rank One: Kokushibo (黒死牟), the strongest of the Twelve Kizuki and Muzan’s right-hand man. He is a former human who was born over 400 years ago as Michikatsu Tsugikuni (継国 道勝, Tsugikuni Michikatsu), the older twin brother of Yoriichi Tsugikuni (継国 縁壱, Tsugikuni Yoriichi), the first user of Sun Breathing. He became a demon after being jealous of his brother’s talent and power. He uses the Moon Breathing style, based on Sun Breathing but inverted.
Doma
Upper Rank Two: Doma (童磨), a young-looking male demon born over 100 years ago as the leader of a cult called the Eternal Paradise. He became a demon after being fed Muzan’s blood by his mother, a loyal follower of Muzan. He uses the Ice Breathing style, which derives from Wind Breathing.
Akaza
Upper Rank Three: Akaza (猗窩座), a muscular male demon who was born over 100 years ago as Hakuji (白治), a human martial artist who was trained by Keizo (敬蔵), a former Sound Hashira. He became a demon after being tricked by Muzan into drinking his blood to save his dying fiancee Koyuki (小雪). He uses the Destructive Death Breathing style, which derives from Sound Breathing.
Nakime
Upper Rank Four: Nakime (鳴女), a female demon who was originally a Biwa demon (琵琶鬼, Biwa oni), a type of demon that can create portals and manipulate space using a biwa, a Japanese lute. She became the Upper-Rank Four after the previous one, Hantengu (半天狗), was killed by Tanjiro and his allies. She uses the Space Breathing style, which derives from Sound Breathing.
Gyokko
Upper Rank Five: Gyokko (玉壺), a male demon originally a potter who became obsessed with creating beautiful things. He became a demon after being fed Muzan’s blood by Doma, who admired his work. He uses the Pottery Breathing style, which derives from Water Breathing.
Daki
Upper Rank Six: Daki, one of the main antagonists of the Entertainment District storyline of Demon Slayer, is a nasty and vindictive nature that stems from his insecurities and his need for Muzan’s favor. In her horrific past life as a courtesan, the Upper Rank Six demon was burned alive before being “saved” by her brother Gyutaro. The siblings have always been close, despite their frequent bickering.
Daki is a mysterious figure who has been around for almost a century; all we know about her is that she was transformed into a demon when she was a teenager. Daki is taller than both Tanjiro and Nezuko, however we don’t know exactly how much taller she is. In contrast to her brother and Muzan, she is noticeably shorter.
Kaigaku
Kaigaku (獪岳), a male demon who was originally a human trained under Jigoro Kuwajima, the former Thunder Hashira, along with Zenitsu. He became a demon after being offered Muzan’s blood by Kokushibo, who sensed his potential and ambition. He uses the Thunder Breathing style, but he is weaker than Zenitsu.
Enmu
Lower Rank One: Enmu (魘夢), a male demon who can manipulate dreams and sleep using his Blood Demon Art. He was killed by Tanjiro and his allies on the Infinity Train.
Rui
Lower Rank Two: Rui (累), a male demon who can manipulate threads using his Blood Demon Art. He was killed by Tanjiro and Giyu on Natagumo Mountain.
Wakuraba
Lower Rank Three: Wakuraba (和蟹), a male demon who can create clones of himself using his Blood Demon Art. He was killed by Shinobu and Kanao on Natagumo Mountain.
Mukago
Lower Rank Four: Mukago (鵡子), a female demon who can control plants using her Blood Demon Art. She was killed by Shinobu and Kanao on Natagumo Mountain.
Rokuro
Lower Rank Five: Rokuro (六郎), a male demon who can create webs using his Blood Demon Art. Inosuke killed him on Natagumo Mountain.
Kyogai
