The next anime series coming to Netflix will be based on the popular video game Devil May Cry. We have every reason to believe that the quality of modern video game adaptations is unparalleled. Netflix has released a teaser trailer for an upcoming anime, but no release date has been announced. What we know thus far regarding the Devil May Cry series on Netflix is as follows.
Netflix Announced Devil May Cry Anime’s Trailer
The Devil May Cry animated series has been the subject of much discussion since at least 2021. We’re relieved to see it materializing after all this time.
The Devil May Cry teaser trailer on Netflix doesn’t reveal anything about the upcoming anime series. However, it does serve to properly set the mood. We’re eager to see an episode because of the fast-paced action and rocking soundtrack. Also, the animation quality is superb.
In the Devil May Cry trailer, we barely get a glimpse of Dante. He’s geared up and ready to go with his red jacket, pistols, and white hair. However, writer and creator Adi Shankar has previously assured us that we will meet other recognizable faces from the Devil May Cry series.
To which he said, “I can confirm that Vergil is in it, as well as Lady, and of course Dante as well.” We’re excited to watch how the show’s writers develop these characters.
Devil May Cry Anime Netflix Release Date
Netflix has not announced a premiere date for the Devil May Cry anime.
Many anticipate its arrival in 2024, but at their showcase event, they said it will be “coming soon” on the streaming service.

Netflix also announced the series’ logline, which reads:
In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.
Somehow, the presence of evil appeals to us. And a professional demon hunter who was raised as an orphan. In the preview, Dante doesn’t appear to realize that the destiny of a number of planets rests on his shoulders; we’ll have to see what happens when he does.
