Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! Master of Garden (The Eminence in Shadow: Master of Garden) is a mobile game based on the Nanakage Retsuden (Biography of the Seven Shades) novel series by Daisuke Aizawa, and on Monday the sixth volume of the novel announced a manga adaptation of the series.
In November of 2022, the game was released for iOS, Android, and PC.
On October 4 at 10:30 p.m. JST, AT-X aired the first episode of the second season of the anime before it aired on any other networks. There will be 12 episodes throughout the season. HIDIVE is airing both the original Japanese version and an English dub at the same time.
On July 1 of this year, HIDIVE and Kadokawa presented the season’s global debut at Anime Expo. The bulk of Studio Nexus’s original cast and crew will be back for Season 2.
In the series’ opener, the musical duo OxT will once again play their song “grayscale dominator.”
The anime debuted in October 2022, and its first season concluded in February of this year.
HIDIVE tells the tale by saying:
Some people just aren’t suited to playing the part of the flashy, in-your-face hero or the dastardly, mustache-twirling villain with larger-than-life panache. Instead, they operate in the shadows and pull the strings of society through wit and cleverness. That’s the role Cid wants to play when he’s transported to another world. Cid spins a yarn or three and becomes the unlikely leader of the underground Shadow Garden organization that fights against a menacing cult (which he totally made up). However, there’s a catch even his wild imagination didn’t see coming: the cult he concocted actually exists, and they’re beyond displeased that his power fantasy just got in the way of their evil plans!
The light novels and the manga adaptation were licensed by Yen Press.
Aizawa began serializing the narrative on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” (Let’s Become Novelists) website in May 2018, and Kadokawa began publishing the story in physical volumes with art by Tōzai, commencing with the first book in November 2018.
In December 2018, Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine debuted the manga adaption by Anri Sakano. In July 2019, Seta U’s Comp Ace spinoff manga The Eminence in Shadow: Shadow Gaiden (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) debuted.
