Nao Kosaka and Kaho Fujishima of the idol group Hinatazaka46 will join the voice cast of the anime film That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie – Tears of the Blue Sea (based on the original works by Taiki Kawakami and Fuse). Information regarding the film’s insert songs has also been released.

Kosaka and Fujishima will voice original characters created specifically for this theatrical release. Kosaka plays Mio and Fujishima plays Yori, both attendants who struggle to protect Yura, the shrine maiden of the undersea nation of Cayenne, from pursuers before eventually crossing paths with Rimuru and his companions. Comments from both idols have arrived alongside this announcement.
The insert songs have been confirmed as “Sokoku” (Blue Time), sung by Yura (voiced by Saori Onishi); “Renai No,” performed by the six-member vocal unit ARCANA PROJECT; and “Harmonics,” a collaboration between STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION and ASH (from ASH DA HERO). A single titled Sokai no Yurameki (Glimmer of the Blue Sea), featuring these three insert songs along with the theme song “Utopia” by TRUE, will be released on February 28 in two editions: First Press Limited and Regular.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie – Tears of the Blue Sea opens in theaters on February 27. The film features a completely new story drafted and fully supervised by original creator Fuse.
Comment from Nao Kosaka (Voice of Mio)

On receiving the offer:
“I was a huge fan of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, so I was genuinely happy to receive this offer.”
On preparation and focus:
“I have always been interested in voice acting, so I re-watched the anime, focusing specifically on the voices rather than just the visuals to observe how the characters were brought to life.”
If you could reincarnate, what would you be?
“I admire wizards, so I would want to be a wizard who can use the strongest magic. I wouldn’t just want to be incredibly strong; I’d like to be the cool, composed type who supports everyone from the shadows.”
Message to those looking forward to the release:
“This movie is the first in the series to feature the ocean as a theme. While there are certainly scenes where you feel the characters’ care for their friends and the strength of their bonds, the action scenes are also incredibly intense. I hope everyone enjoys the overwhelming immersion of TenSura on the big screen.”
Comment from Kaho Fujishima (Voice of Yori)

On receiving the offer:
“I had absolutely no voice acting experience when I received this offer, so while I was happy, I was also very nervous going into the recording.”
On preparation and focus:
“After receiving the offer, I watched TenSura, got totally hooked, and watched the whole series. It made me happy to be involved in such a fun work. Also, this opportunity helped me face my own voice—realizing ‘this is how I project sound’ or ‘this is what my voice is like.'”
If you could reincarnate, what would you be?
“I love sheep in real life. I’m from Hokkaido, so I’ve had many chances to interact with them. However, not just a normal sheep—I want to be a ‘battle sheep’ that sleeps a lot but is actually strong when awake (laughs). I want to reincarnate as a sheep with an unexpected edge: fluffy on the outside, but tough in a fight!”
Message to those looking forward to the release:
“Since this is a completely original story, I think it is a work that even people who haven’t seen TenSura will definitely enjoy. I hope you look forward to it!”
