The official sequel to Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion, titled Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising- (Gekijban Mah Shjo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten), had its “teaser 1.1” trailer released by Aniplex on Sunday. In this new and improved version of the film’s first teaser trailer, Madoka Kaname finally makes her debut in her magical girl form.
The film’s Japanese debut is scheduled for the winter of 2024. Arakawa Under the Bridge, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story director Yukihiro Miyamoto is at the helm.
Creators Magica Quartet, chief director Akiyuki Simbo, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, original character designer Ume Aoki, animation character designer Junichi Taniguchi, composer Yuki Kajiura, alternate space designer Gekidan Inu Curry, and animation studio SHAFT will all return for the film’s animated adaptation.

In January 2011, the first of 12 episodes of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime series debuted on Japanese television, and the series is now available to watch online at Crunchyroll.
Opening in Japan in October 2012 were the collection films Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings and Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal, followed by the sequel film Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion in October 2013.
The television series, two compilation films, and the follow-up feature film were all distributed in North America by Aniplex of America. The series was also broadcast on Funimation, which provides the following plot summary:
She has a loving family and best friends, laughs and cries from time to time… Madoka Kaname, an eighth grader of Mitakihara middle school, is one of those who lives such a life. One day, she had a very magical encounter.

The smartphone game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story was adapted into an anime series that debuted in January 2020. In July of 2021, the second season of the anime debuted. Season 3, the last, premiered in April of 2022.
The smartphone game came out in Japan in August 2017, and it’s available for free on iOS and Android devices with optional in-app purchases. In June of 2019, the English language version was released in the US and Canada. In September of 2020, support for the English version of the game was discontinued.
