It was announced on the 26th at the “We Are Now!! – The World of KyoAni Exhibition,” held at the Miyako Messe in Kyoto, that the series finale, Sound! Euphonium – Final Movement Part 1, will premiere in 200 theaters across Japan on April 24, 2026. Alongside the announcement, the first key visual, a promotional trailer, and details regarding advance MovieTickets were also revealed.

Sound! Euphonium is the immensely popular concert band anime series produced by Kyoto Animation. Since the first television season began broadcasting in April 2015, the franchise has produced three TV seasons and five theatrical releases (including special editions and spin-off films), and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. And now, the series will reach its grand conclusion with Sound! Euphonium – Final Movement. The series has garnered widespread acclaim for its stunningly vibrant animation, its musical score, and its moving depiction of the Kitauji High School Concert Band members as they diligently strive to win gold at the national competition.
The first key visual depicts the protagonist, Kumiko Oumae, and her friend, Reina Kousaka, standing with dignified expressions. Behind them, the figures of the previous presidents and vice presidents of the band are shown from behind. The tagline reads, “This trajectory becomes the next song.” It signifies that the path they have walked connects to and becomes the “next song.” The visual powerfully and emotionally captures the senses of ephemerality and continuity that are unique to school club activities. Another visual of today is here.
The trailer builds anticipation by using new footage from the stage wings—scenes not depicted in the third television season. The background music is “Orpheus in the Underworld” (also known as “Heaven and Hell”), used memorably during the first season in the scene where Kumiko, sobbing, voices her intense frustration.
Layered over this track is dialogue brimming with the aspirations of their former upperclassmen for the national gold medal. During Kumiko’s first two years, the Kitauji High School Concert Band failed to achieve their goal of winning national gold, enduring many bitter setbacks. Carrying this frustration and the hopes of those who came before them, Kumiko’s final competition begins. The resulting footage overflows with the determination of Kumiko and Reina and the passionate energy of youth.
The first wave of advance MovieTickets, featuring the new key visual, will go on sale at theaters and online retailers starting on the 31st. Each ticket purchase comes with one bonus clear file (A4 size, 1 of 4 random designs) titled, “Exhilaration in ‘Street’ Style!” The illustrations for the clear files are newly drawn by character designer Kazumi Ikeda and adorably depict the characters dressed in street fashion—a style not normally seen in the series.
