Ufotable has released a newly drawn illustration of Shinobu Kocho from the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Set against a wintry scene with snow drifting down, the image shows Shinobu in cold‑weather wear with tights—though it’s a small section of those tights that’s stealing the spotlight.

Her cheeks are flushed—maybe from the cold—giving the piece a look we rarely see from her. Online reactions include: “With this expression she’s not ‘Shinobu‑chan’ anymore—she’s ‘Shinobu‑san.’ So elegant and grown‑up,” “She’s honestly too cute; I’m going shopping for something like this today,” and “I want this Shinobu‑sama to wrap a scarf around me.”

A short video introducing the illustration was also posted. Zoomed‑in cuts reveal the outfit is covered throughout with the word “SAMPLE,” tights included. “I thought they were logo‑pattern tights—so stylish—and then realized it just says SAMPLE, lol,” one fan wrote.
Based on the hit manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, Demon Slayer is set in Japan’s Taisho era, where man‑eating demons roam the night. After his family is slaughtered, Tanjiro Kamado joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his demonized sister Nezuko back into a human and hunt down the demon who destroyed their family. The manga has over 220 million copies in circulation worldwide.

The TV anime’s first season, “Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc,” aired April–September 2019 and became a phenomenon, followed by the feature film Mugen Train in October 2020, which grossed about 51.7 billion yen worldwide. The franchise has since expanded into games and stage productions, with the Entertainment District Arc airing in December 2021, the Swordsmith Village Arc in April 2023, and the Hashira Training Arc from May to June 2024.

Next up is a trilogy of films adapting the Infinity Castle Arc. The first installment, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle — Part 1: Akaza Returns, pits Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps against Muzan Kibutsuji and the Upper Rank demons in the demons’ stronghold, the Infinity Castle.
