The Moon on a Rainy Night — “It is a metaphor for things that cannot be seen with the eye. Like the moon hidden by the rain.”

One day, just before entering high school, Saki Kindaichi encounters Kanon Oikawa—a beautiful girl with striking long hair—while on her way to a piano lesson. They reunite as classmates on the day of the entrance ceremony. Kanon is hard of hearing and keeps those around her at a distance, perhaps as a result. Saki, feeling uncomfortable with the prejudiced behavior of their classmates and teachers toward Kanon, attempts to close the distance between them, wanting to understand her better. Touched by Saki’s straightforward nature, Kanon slowly opens her heart and begins to change. Their peaceful daily lives quietly draw their hearts closer together.
