The first trailer for Netflix’s new anime series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Carter, has been released.
Early in 2021, when the streaming juggernaut said it was working with Legendary to bring two new anime episodes to the Skull Island and Tomb Raider universes, the initiative was first made public.
The iconic Square Enix video game’s anime adaptation, which picks up after the reboot trilogy, will follow Lara Croft as she travels to new places. During its first-ever DROP 01 event, a virtual exhibition of its new animated content, Netflix revealed the show’s 2024 launch date.
A worldwide franchise, Tomb Raider now includes television shows, video games, and comic books. The newest Netflix-Legendary venture features Lara Croft for the first time in an animated program.
In the 2001 motion picture, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Angelina Jolie portrayed the title character. She later returned in the 2003 follow-up, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life. In a new installment of the movie series in 2018, Alicia Vikander assumed the character of Lara Croft. In the sequel, which will be written and directed by Lovecraft Country’s Misha Green, she will reprise the role.
Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja), who will executive produce the anime series alongside dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog), Tim Stevenson, and Dan Jevons, will pen the scripts. The EP for this show will also be Jacob Robinson working for Tractor Pants.
