During a special talk show held on the 7th at Tokyo Comic Con 2025, it was announced that the second season of Vigilantes: My Hero Academia Illegals—the official spinoff of the TV anime My Hero Academia—will begin broadcasting on January 5, 2026. Episodes will air sequentially every Monday at 10:00 PM.
In conjunction with the premiere date, the production committee unveiled the key visual, the main trailer, opening and ending theme details, and new cast members.
Vigilantes: My Hero Academia Key Visual and Trailer
The key visual features a striking inverted composition centered on the protagonist, Koichi, surrounded by the cast of Season 2. The illustration depicts the illegal heroes—the “Vigilantes”—alongside the season’s main antagonist, the “Scarred Man.” It also features Pro Heroes familiar to fans of the main My Hero Academia series, including All Might, Shota Aizawa, Fat Gum, Best Jeanist, and Edgeshot. Notably, the visual also includes the back of Oboro Shirakumo, a former classmate of Aizawa and Hizashi Yamada.
Packed with the latest footage, the main trailer showcases scenes of a matured Koichi gliding through the city, the anime debut of Pro Hero Fat Gum, the first appearance of Monica Kaniyashiki, and intense action sequences involving the season’s primary villain, the Scarred Man.
Vigilantes: My Hero Academia Music and Cast Announcements
The song featured in the latter half of the trailer is the newly revealed opening theme, “CATCH!!!,” performed by Surii. Surii began his career as a Vocaloid producer in 2018 and has created numerous hits with over 100 million views, such as “Telecaster B-Boy” and “Ego Rock.”
The final moments of the video reveal the first look at the student days of Shota Aizawa, Oboro Shirakumo, and Hizashi Yamada, a key storyline in Season 2. The ending theme has been confirmed as “Miss You” by the up-and-coming three-piece band, Shytaupe.
Joining the cast are Kazuyuki Okitsu as Fat Gum and Kana Ueda as Monica Kaniyashiki, both of whom appear in the new visual and trailer.
Broadcast Information
Broadcast and streaming information for Season 2 was also announced on stage. The series will air starting January 5, 2026, every Monday at 10:00 PM on TOKYO MX, 11:00 PM on BS Nippon TV, and 1:59 AM on Yomiuri TV. Episodes will be available on various streaming services sequentially starting at 10:30 PM, immediately after the broadcast. Additionally, a rerun of all 13 episodes of Vigilantes Season 1 will be available on TVer from December 20 through January 5, 2026.
About the TV Series Vigilantes: My Hero Academia
Vigilantes is an official spinoff connected to the canon of My Hero Academia. Written by Hideyuki Furuhashi with art by Betten Court, it was serialized in the manga app “Shonen Jump+” from 2017 to 2022, spanning 15 collected volumes.
